Oh, and by the way, Father and I are going to be out of the house for the next few hours.” I think he genuinely cares for his sisters but is doing his best to hide that from their father.

I think they do show Yang deals with PTSD and stuff in the future, we keep see her hands shaking and other conversations that make me less critical of this. Tai still doesn’t get Yang either, calling her Semblance a temper tantrum is . . . not really what we saw in Volume 3. And we do see Yang being smart in her fights too, like taking the floor out from Neon. It feels like he’s talking to who he thinks Yang is and not who she is now. He’s remembering her first hair cut and not seeing her being more mature now. (And maybe projecting some of his issues with Raven too?) Comments about Raven come in the future when we see her more. Keep in mind the Schnee siblings are the classic responses to trauma – Fight (Weiss), Flee (Winter), and Fawn (Whitley). Explains so much about their dynamics LMAO I was thinking “Mantle is US coded” right before Casper said it. It is fascinating how Mantle is consistently portrayed with the color White/Grey Young Nora is everything to me lol. “Sometimes the worst action to take is to take no action at all” – such good words to remember I don’t actually think Ren’s father is a Huntsman, I think he just hunted for food for his village and was the only person who could step up. Ren’s Semblance! (thoughts on what that says about him later.) Nora’s First Hammer! Really wish you guys had done soundtrack reactions at this point, with the acoustic Boop playing in the background “Like a bumblebee” – Or . . . like a bumbleby? Lol Oh nice of you Tai, to not argue with your adult daughter on if she want’s to see her birth mother \s “She needs to get her wife in Australia” had me unable to breathe from laughter Weiss doing her best Solid Snake impression in clacky heels, Man, Ironwood is going through it, hopefully he doesn’t get even more paranoid! I loooooooove the Nucklevee design. How it twitches and everything in a jolty motion, how they have the only vocal it ‘says’ screaming “DIE” in such a heavily distorted manner, it’s just fun for a final boss Fun music note – triumphant (major cord? Not sure, I’m tone deaf) reprisal of Bad Luck Charm when the airships came in, Qrow survives after all. And Boop again when they hold hands! Home and Ruby’s letter always brings me to tears. And the song worse than Cold – Forever Fall. Ruby plays FFXIV confirmed – “We have to try. For those we have lost; For those we have yet to save” lmao

I just ask that you show it to him on the next reaction live so I can see his reaction ;) Volume 4 is my favorite volume too and remains my favorite to this day. While I did enjoy the final fight more than Casper, I agree with both Sol and Casper. If for more reasons than this is the Renora volume, it is also about the music. Another reactor I adore called Robin Rising did a video about the music at the end of this volume. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieKSmRR2-EE . I recommend this to RWBY lovers and especially those with a musical interest like you both. Finally, there was one thing that didn't come up for which surprised me. While we got Ren's backstory, we don't know the backstory of two other characters based on this volume. How did Oscar end up at his aunt's farm house? In such a fiendish world, the story may be bleak. Same with Nora? What happened to either or both of her parents with her ending up in Kuroyuri? Their bond is what begins to shape in this volume. Were they six or seven when they met? And spent a decade together as orphans in an unforgiving world before attending Beacon at 17 years of age? To me, Ren and Nora and the most viable canon ship in RWBY and they are the reasons I watch this show. Like you, I also love Hazel. Heck my favorite characters don't include our four main girls. Nora. Ren. Emerald. Hazel. Zwei. It speaks volumes that these secondary characters can draw me into the writing while each character keeps me there including the four girls.

So V2 not 1. with Qrow mentioning in the WoR it lasted 10 years.

Not gonna lie, it's very reminiscent of my recaps of the last dnd session (where noone bothers to keep notes, because they rely on my lore-whore-brain to keep tabs... and that's pretty much exactly the energy/accuracy of my recaps...)
