2025-08-01 21:09:06 +0000 UTCThis animation made me bawl my eyes out the first time I watched it. Neal is EVIL for adding sound effects to the video!! I love the little touches of the flash of Telemachus in Odysseuss arms, the horse toy in the infant's crib, and Zeus being an eagle as he flies over Odysseus making sure that he does the deed. The infant's mother being held back as Odysseus carries the her baby to the edge to be dropped, dude that broke my heart. And the shameful look that Odysseus gives her as he says, "Forgive me." That look says, "I'm sorry, I do not want to do this, but I HAVE to." All of the soldiers take off their helmets and hang their heads in shame really shows that they understand the gravity of the situation. And Eurylochus stopping Polites was heartbreaking, at first I thought it was Peremides, but having Polites be the only one to protest makes it so much worse! And you're right, Odysseus closed his eyes to spare himself the view of watching the infant fall, and he spared the infant the view of falling to his death by covering him with a blanket. Ahhhhh that's so sad but so good!!
