first of all I got that Catch a RIIIIIIIIDE reference. two, we actually have seen Ruby use her petals without her speed in volume 1 after the OG nevermore fight they're coming from her (totally accurate length) hood cape.

A lot of people probably don't realise it, but a fair amount of the themes that are present and often central in the main show have their origins in WoR. The Four Maidens introduces the individual variations of the Maiden theme that each of the four have, and the four Kingdoms episodes introduce and explore the music for those locations.

I refuse to elaborate due to even the slightest of spoilers but it's crazy how watching it again along with y'all can showcase things I missed on my (very ridiculously fast) binge watch. Or maybe only obvious in hind sight? Who knows.
