You can interpret the lyrics as: "Blood (Fighting) brings me closer to the emptiness and sadness that have come to take the place of you."

Only the Red Trailer was exclusively animated by Monty. Shane Newville co-animated the rest of the trailers. He had been working with Monty for nearly 7 years by the time RWBY came around and very much new his style. Currently he is likely the only person alive that can truly emulate it. By Volume 1, an actual team of modellers, animators, etc had been hired by RT to assist. That said, the team was still insanely small and almost every scene that made it to the finished product was touched by Monty or Shane in some way.

2024-09-30 08:12:16 +0000 UTCSomething that's been pointed out to me, and that I've noticed; A lot of the characters are shown trying to circumvent the eye contact rule, in some way. Ren and Nora completely intended to disregard it all together, and become partners regardless of whatever rule was established. Pyrrha immediately spots, catches, and goes after Jaune. Blake takes time scoping out Yang before coming out, and making eye contact. And before that, Yang had been wearing sunglasses, witch would block direct eye contact. Weiss tries to break the rule outright, before deciding Ruby is her better choice. And Ruby herself notably takes time to look down and process who it is she's looking at. Notably, the only one to outright fail in her attempt, was Weiss.
