2024-08-07 02:30:07 +0000 UTCI've always thought they highlighted the "KILL" in red to retrospectively show that when he told Posidon that "they meant no harm, they just wanted to escape" he wasn't being fully honest. You can clearly see that the intention was to kill him at first. It wasn't till later that he changed his mind because he blocked the entry.

2024-08-06 23:14:58 +0000 UTCI agree with Casper on My Goodbye over Warrior of the Mind *absolutely*—the vocal agility, and the intensity of emotion between them, but also the dueling instruments between Athena’s piano and Odysseus’ guitar. It’s just *so good* and so *interesting* musically too, whereas Warrior of the Mind is *fun* and catchy and entertaining, but not as *impressive* imho.

Poseidon's instrument is the trumpet, but you only hear it in key points in Ruthlessness while the majority is carried by electric guitar. Ruthlessness is meant to introduce us to the idea and musical identity of Ruthlessness itself, which is any instrument in triplets. We hear the electric guitar for the song because Poseidon is meant to be a dark reflection to Odysseus if he got rid of his humanity completely. So Ruthlessness may not have a lot of trumpets, but you know which song does? The song that seems like a much more fitting hidden introduction for the God of the seas. STOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRMMM!!!!

Also, I believe that high “Just a Man” is TROY, the VO for Hermes! If I’m remembering correctly, Athena’s backing are the gods.

2024-07-20 14:11:30 +0000 UTCAnd now my Cyclops list: 1. I never noticed the breathing before! (There’s a sound in the original that might be breathing, but too soft to tell) 2. Survive is an easy Top 3 for me (I could ramble for yonks about how much i love it lol), I’m a sucker for the war drums. My only criticism is that the battle instrumental sounds to me like it loses intensity a little, which kinda slows the momentum for me. But other than that, A BANGER. 3. Remember Them hits sooooo much with the guitar remaster 4. You didn’t mention it here, but Athena delivers the “no” differently too. Still questioning but less commanding, almost some genuine confusion (I think? Can’t work out exactly what i mean to say) 5. I agree with your “just a man” cutoff opinion, that harmony slaps though 6. Hate to tell ya, the storm winds have always been there, now there’s just added context that its the storm approaching, rather than showcasing Athena’s absence (which is what i always thought it was) Looking forward to the rest of the sagas now!!

2024-07-20 09:42:30 +0000 UTCJust checked the Odysseus motif, it’s definitely in the original, just not as noticeable. Also as far as i can tell in the lead up to “it was nobody”, there wasn’t any sick guitar shredding in the original (loooove the change tho)
