2024-08-07 06:55:52 +0000 UTCi think the reason the soldiers feel a lil more seperated is cause they are. im pretty sure the first few harmonies in the originals were just jorge and a couple others but now he has more people to play the soldiers as well.

2024-07-31 20:48:12 +0000 UTCi think horse and the infant is a perfect intro to epic, its just not one of the bangers as it were. so i agree with that placement for both of yall. its job is to introoduce the motifs and some of the characters and set the stage for the rest of the songs and i think it does that super well.

I also miss Luke holding that last note, it was so beautiful in the first recording, but this is still a gift to listen to. Also! The golden light that delivers the baby? Zeus uses it to tempt Odysseus with a vision of Penelope! This god is demented.

2024-07-30 19:46:08 +0000 UTCI LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE the new chorus vocals, ESPECIALLY for the men, it’s so beautiful and layered and, as you mentioned, the less-blended vocals really add so much to the tracks because I LOVE being able to hear what key the men are singing at! I think my favorite change that I don’t think y’all noticed it, but in “Just a man” when the men sing the final “when does a man become a monster” they end it on a lower and more dissonant note, when in the original they resolve it to that higher, finished, more satisfying note (I don’t know how to describe this through words so if that made no sense I’m sorry 😭). Compare 30:19 to 30:25 and how they end singing “monster” ITS SO GOOD! And Full Speed Ahead has always been in my SSS tier (I’ve sung “and Ithaca’s waitiiing, my kingdom is waitiiing, Penelope’s WAITIIIING FOOOR MEEEE” like a vocal tic, just constantly singing it in my head and out loud DAILY, AND the repeat motifs throughout every other saga made me love it even more), so the new less-blended vocals made me wanna cry happy tears, PERFECTION!!! I LOOOOVE being able to hear those super duper low bass and baritone notes from the crew, like I can feel the droning lower notes in my heart I makes me so happy. Which makes the Thunder Saga even more heartbreaking because WE’LL NEVER GET TO HEAR THEM SINGING BEHIND ODYSSEUS EVER AGAIN 😭😭😭😭 I pray that Ody gets some chorus backing him from the gods or something, then my chorus-loving heart won’t have to be in constant mourning 🥲

2024-07-21 06:25:13 +0000 UTCA thing I noticed in Just a Man is that you can clearly hear Eurylocus's voice in the new version during the soldiers session. His voice is in the forefront like he's is watching. Idk if Polities voice can be heard but I can definitely pick out Eury's voice.

2024-07-20 08:39:58 +0000 UTCAlso I don't know if you picked up on it: When you guys mentioned the piano at the beginning of Warrior of the Mind wasn't as prominent, I'm not sure if you both noticed that once she started saying "i see you changing from how i designed you" the piano comes forward and is now almost. leading the instrumental? if that sounds right?

But the supplies are most likely OTHER necessary foods that they've run out of. Just eating fish would not provide the men with enough Vitamin C to avoid catching scurvy, which is probably WHY they needed to find more supplies!
