Zoakin: Territorial Amplifier Power Score [T.A.P.S.]

Explanation: A large reason that the Zoakin homeland of Ako has never been seriously considered a target for war is the biological trait of increase physical strength and speed when within an area that the Zoakin considers their territory. This phenomenon was considered to be a rather prevalent myth before further studies were conducted under the Wayfare Council. The results of which showed that Zoakin within certain areas had a mix of increased physical traits based on location. Well although location is important the real cause of this effect is due to Zoakin pheromones. As a Zoakin spends more time in the designated location they tend to have a rather natural inclination to physically engage with their environment. Many lounge and sleep in different locations to evenly distribute these pheromones unconsciously. One study found that Zoakin often put mattresses in multiple rooms making their entire domicile a makeshift bedroom. Some species such as the Felian(cat folk) will be found sleeping in various contorted poses on nearly ever piece of furniture in thier home at one time or another. This unconscious effect has led to certain socail behaviors. Zoakin rarely engage in domicile burglary due to the fact that fighting another within their territory puts the invader at a statistically significant disadvantage. This is also one reason that Zoakin don't often leave their homeland of Ako as regardless of location because of the large pheromonal discharge the species at large is stronger and faster when within the borders of their cities.

Theories: This trait is believed to have been based on the orgins of the species. The elves had a vested interest in making strong protective servants but not ones who were interested in war like behaviors. This led to the compromise of making their territorial instinct very strong. This kept the Zoakin protective of their masters domicile without making them outwardly aggressive towards others with their immense strength.

Oddities: Zoakin have at time shown T.A.P.S. outside of their territory when in the vicinity of their mate. This factor is believed to be mostly psychological which demonstrates how this condition is able to be overcome by those with protective instincts beyond their natural inclinations. Although some contest that a physical relationship may actually be a spreading of pheromones and that over time mates tend to have trace amounts of pheromones due to overly affectionate partners.
