The orgin of the elvish race is one that is as near a mystery to the origin of the universe itself. Save that there are some small scraps of evidence that allow for a more tangible base of guesstimations. The orgin of elves, much like the orgin of titans, is prehistoric and therefore pre-dates any such simple written answer. The elves, although having a vast record of nearly 100,000 years, do not stretch back to their orgins. Their history simply starts from a point when their magical records were established, which made the loss of records much more difficult from traditional methods of record keeping. These early records establish that elvish society and magical technology were in a very primitive state to even the simplest fields of magic in modern times. Magic, at this point, was only accessible to the most wealthy and powerful elves of the age. This, in its very nature, makes the early history and speculation of the race very difficult to discern from the near mythology carried by the higher classes which had access to magical record keeping. Early age elvin anthropologists and historians did their best to piece together what they could of the elvish races scattered orgin but have come up with only theories with only small amounts of physical evidence. The orgin of most sentient races is the byproduct of a higher being that manipulates the weave of reality to produce further life in a kind of study of existence or some other personal offshoot of the higher beings nature. Elves, however, do not have a being who claims responsibility for their creation. Elvish life span may not even be a natural occurrence of their heritage and may have been the outcome of medical to magical advancements. A rather prevalent theory suggests that elves were a race of biologically occuring beings through natural selection and evolved into magical beings through a span of many eons to the point that the modern elvish race may not resemble their Ansestors in any meaningful way. Elvish life spans used to be limitless save grievous injury according to many credible historic records but somewhere on the edge of history elvish life span was shrunk to 10000 years and then reduced again during the times of Valor to the current day 2000 years. The reason for the original reduction to 10000 years is unknown, but perhaps it has something to do with the saturation of magical fields, which elves have always been sensitive to. Regardless the idea that many of the oldest elves had an unmeasurable life span begs the question of whether there may be certain Ancient elves still alive. This is unlikely but many unanswered questions would be made easier with a witness. Some have turned to the greater titans but many have forgotten or simply had no interest in the elves in the early days of the planet. At the end of the very long day the orgin of the elves may be forever out of reach as time marches further from the answers.
