Usual DND experience

Your monk goes to pick it up fast while your mage looks along curiously...you've both failed your rolls and unknown to you even the barbarian will pay the consequences.
A flash goes out, as does another round of failed rolls, it seems all hope is lost...but at least you'll get some enjoyment out of your stay.
