December Update!!
Added 2024-12-03 12:45:38 +0000 UTCEveryone, I'm going to raise the price tiers on my Patreon page.
Patreon updated a lot ever since, back then they unable creators to update tier's price once published. Now they allow it but limited to 20$ increase. (Example, current tier is 5$, can increases up to 25$)
And I have the additional options given, that the latest tier prices be updated for new members. Existing members shall keep the older tier prices with the same benefits, after this update. When upgrade to another tier, the latest price applies!
I have drawing for over a decade, then got Patreon within those 7 years. I haven't mention of raising tier prices. Until now, because this is that "eventually", that recently I've been having difficulty of keeping up monthly expense. Even with commissions that I am having.
This may seem both reasonably and unreasonable, especially right before the holidays. BUT this is how much I am increasing to:
Tier LV. 1, 1$ (Old Price) > 4$ (New Price)
Tier LV. 2, 5$ (Old Price) > 9$ (New Price)
Tier LV. 3, 10$ (Old Price) > 14$ (New Price)
Tier LV. MAX, 15$ (Old Price) > 20$ (New Price)
Update will occur after 7th December 2024.
I know audience here isn't too responsive, but hope you read about this and understand the circumstances. Of whether I should encourage myself to do or requesting for more. Or recommend staying on the course as usual.

Thanks for the additional details. As I said, I wouldn't have minded if these price updates were effective for everyone immediately. I just wanted to know if the old prices had an end date because surprise price updates are never fun. Announced price changes ahead of time are fine.

By switching between tiers would refresh it to the date. So had a thought that could somehow be a benefit to my loyal members. How long you asked, until they decided to switch. Up till now, new members still able to access to older contents/posts. I can't keep them for myself forever, I had experienced lost 2 laptop devices among the journey along with the working files within. Thought of third-party paywall like Gumroad, they had advised risks of getting banned or removed. Plus, in case of former subscriber want to re-access the files, some would have to repurchase it. And thank you for understanding. Appreciate for pointing out the details I could've miss. Commission part isn't official. Just a few comes after several months, mostly through Discord.

2024-12-05 07:58:42 +0000 UTCI'm a bit confused, I guess because you say existing members are staying at the same price unless they manually change tier, so the announcement for this almost seems aimed more at people who aren't current supporters? If people are "grandfathered in" (and sorry if the term is unfamiliar to you in your language), then for how long? I guess confirmation/more details would be helpful. Regardless, I think the price changes are reasonable, and I would think that even if existing supporter's pricing was going up a bit. After all, inflation exists and was rough on most of the world in the last many years, so most things have gone up to match that. Besides, you do (or at least did last I checked) offer access to your entire back catalogue for supporters, which becomes increasingly generous on your part as your catalogue grows. While many other artists offer this too, not all of them do. Some only allow you to go back X amount of months, often from the start date of support. The ones who allow full access usually aren't the ones with a long running back catalogue like yours. I don't want to come off as making suggestions, but that seems like it might lose you potential supporters (example why, people join for one month, get everything, and leave). That leaves the question of how to make old content available otherwise. The most common one was Gumroad, but well... Gumroad banned that content unfortunately. But yeah, no complaints here on those prices, regardless of if or when they kick in for old subscribers. Of course I can only speak for myself. Unrelated but I never knew you did commissions either. You might have announced it at one point and I just never noticed for whatever reason.
