Art tip #2: HEADS AND FACES!

Made another tutorial type thing! This one is focused on heads and faces. The main takeaway I’m hoping to get across is to try different things! Experiment!! Try not to get stuck in a FORMULA for drawing faces when making unique characters… Always be actively thinking while you’re drawing.

When it comes to expressions, I see a lot of tutorials talking about “pushing” the expression as far as you can… this is great advice, but I think it doesn’t take into account the situation the character is in. Sometimes subtle expressions are ideal! When doing subtle expressions, I like to think about the position of the eyebrows, whether they’re being pushed up or pulled down, turned up in the middle or down towards the eyes.
