That’s one theory I’ve read. And that she does it to herself to “turn her brain off”. Which would make sense if you analyze her behavior/actions in that scene. Reality tv, fast food, hooking up with the deep, and maybe most significant of all- wanting to watch Transformers 2. Lobotomy is the only explanation.
