2024-06-16 22:56:09 +0000 UTCWell said. Like with all great villains, Azula's fall was both satisfying and tragic at the same time.

2024-06-16 02:31:45 +0000 UTCAzula's downward spiral into paranoia and insanity is one of the most satisfying and saddest things to see in a show. Her parents really set her up for it: raised as dad's perfect weapon pawn whom she idolized, and her mom was too frightened of her to give any love, so she saw fear/intimidation as superior. Mai's statement that she loves Zuko more than she fears her is the trigger that sent her spiraling, a love she never had from her mom and her father's "love" was false (he cast her aside in the end when she wasn't useful next to him anymore). And in the very end while she was finally chained, seeing Zuko who had chosen love over hate had won, she finally broke. What a villain arc! (all the characters's stories Zuko's mom, Aluza's fate, Toph, etc, continue in the official Avatar comics that go between AtLA and Korra)

2024-06-16 00:01:21 +0000 UTCIf you own the DVDs, you really should rewatch the finale with the creator commentary. There is so much there. One thing: the last episode is called Avatar Aang because he finally understands how to use the Avatar state properly, which is to access it for only a moment. If you rewatch past episodes, you will see Roku and Kyoshi only glow for a brief moment. The reasons are twofold. One, the Avatar state drains some of your life so using it for long periods at a time instead of briefly shortens the lifespan (Kyoshi lived over 200 years). Two, the Avatar can be killed during the Avatar state. This explains the time lapse for the next series.

2024-06-15 20:39:26 +0000 UTCAzula not being able tae reconcile that her control through fear wasnae absolute and she was well and truly alone, I think is also a worse than death consequence too. Because as it was shown, she stared questioning EVERYTHING and that shook her to her core. And I really love how Aang found his own way in terms of what Avatar he wants tae be...paralleling Zuko's journey of figuring out who he wants to be versus who people wanted him to be.

2024-06-15 20:23:53 +0000 UTCRead the Avatar comics!!! Specifically The Search it revolves around Zuko searching for his mom and what happened with Azula after!! All of the Avatar comics take place a couple of years into the future, I think Aang is 16 in them!
