BTS 09/04/2020
Added 2020-09-04 23:48:04 +0000 UTCI know I've been spoiling you for polls lately, but alas I've run out for this release. A little BTS action is here instead.
Chris, oh lawdy lawd. Chris was the last character I conceived of when I wrote the script, and she was another character who originally was not intended to be a romantic option.
In the original script she was the older sister of your male best friend who had graciously allowed you to live in her LA apartment, she would periodically pop in and bug you but she was very much a bit character. That's right folks my game, like every other AVN, had the male best friend. As I was working on trimming some of the fat I decided I really didn't want that character. Not wanting to get completely rid of the friend element I decided to combine them into a singular character. Chris is my attempt to make a female best friend character that doesn't involve her trying to hook up with your harem herself. I'm hoping in this upcoming release you'll get to see a bit more of Chris and the PC's closeness as they work towards rekindling their friendship.
Internally I've always referred to Chris as a rival. As you saw in the last release and for those who've peeked at the code you may notice that choices that bring you closer to Beatrix or Kim have a tendency to cause Chris irritation. As the three of them are more Type A dominant personalities I figured that there would naturally be some friction, but we'll see how that evolves soon.
Final fun fact about Chris. Her original name was Aiko, when she was merged with the male friend I gave her his name of Alex. I just thought it might be fun to have a bit of a fakeout where the masculine name would keep her identity a bit mysterious. When I was coding I realized that I abbreviated Aoife as A and it would confuse me to have two hence it was changed to Christine IE Chris.
