THE CLONE WARS #107: 5x18 (The Jedi Who Knew Too Much) FULL Reaction

Comments

Anakin: "Set weapons to stun! I want her alive!" Vader in OG Star Wars: "Commander tear this ship apart until you've found those plans, and bring me the passengers! I want them alive!"

Quality will continue to get better. Wait until you get to bad batch, it’s insane.

So I just finished watching you'll review. Yes, Drew for acknowledging the music. Had the same reaction the first time I watched that chase scene, "She's too nice" came out of my mouth too. I think that may have been the universal Black reaction to that sequence. Tarkin needed to have his arm chopped off. Ain't no reason why his hand needed to be lingering on Ahsoka's face that long. Matter of fact he shouldn't have been touching her at all. I know his dusty ass is still mad he got saved by a fifteen year old girl when he's the one with all the military training. I like the fact that Fox, who was the clone who told Anakin he couldn't let him in to see Ahsoka and also was the one that gave the "shoot to kill" order after Ahsoka escaped, ended up getting killed by Vader. I always felt some of those kills were personal. I felt like Vader's hit list was being formed in this arc. The sermon that Yoda gave at the beginning of the episode, that's how every Black Pastor sounds at a funeral (Maybe all pastors do it, but I'm only familiar with how the Black ones preach). They always "comforting" family and friends by telling us not to mourn the dead because this is how we're all going to end up, or some variation of that speech. 😐 Now, there must have been a deleted scene or something that happened in the background for the clones at the prison telling Anakin earlier they only take orders from Tarkin to listening to him. Also, Anakin and Rex had to be close by or have someone on the inside let them know what was going on for him to arrive so fast. I wish that had been clarified to the audience, but they only have 22 minutes to tell a story. That's my only critique of this episode.

It only gets worse. This arc to me was the turning point of everything.

This is my favorite episode in the entire series. Yes, THE ENTIRE SERIES. It's easily top 5 favorite for me between Clone Wars and Rebels. And it's not even the entire episode. It's from timestamp 9:00 minutes (going to have to double check that) to the end of the episode that's truly amazing. This episode is embedded in my brain that I can just watch you'll reaction without watching along, and I know exactly what's going. This is one of the few episodes that immediately made me go who wrote this. I thought it was Filoni, but suprisingly, it wasn't not him. I will give the writer more of his kudos when we get to the end of this arc. Matt Lanter and Ashley Eckstein did the damn thing. Kevin Keiner's orchestration was the MVP. The fact that he decided to get a full orchestra to score these last four episode *chef's kiss*. You really can hear the difference in the music. The ending dialogue between Anakin and Ahsoka has got to be some of my favorite dialogue spoken in this series. Actually I don't know what the proper term is, but it's double speak. They are talking about what's going on, but there is more to what they're saying. I'm probably going to come back and write more stuff about why I love this episode after I actually watch you'll review.
