I watched this with you, my first time. I saw the trailer before it came out and the concept was so interesting but I never got around to this, thank you for bringing into my life, it was a trip and we never finish learning but I feel one step closer to peace of mind.

Found the finale episodes to be particularly good. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-good-place-the-podcast/id1388743215

2026-01-15 22:10:51 +0000 UTCIn a strange way, it comforted me, too. I have one final therapist appointment in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait to talk about this show with her

2026-01-15 20:02:29 +0000 UTCThis was really, really beautiful. I've gone through a lot of grief in my life, and Chidi's concept of the wave returning to the ocean just feels right to me. Its a concept for how the people we've lost can still be with us that doesn't necessarily require religion, which is comforting. Just wonderful.

2026-01-15 17:36:20 +0000 UTCI can't put into words how much I love this show. The ending makes me cry everytime, and I really relate with what you said there at the end. The Good Place also helped me be a little more at peace with my own mortality, all the while making me laugh my ash off. 'Cause the philosophy lessons are one thing, they managed to explain those concepts in a way that's easy to understand. Yet at the same time, some moments in this show still give me the best belly laughs aha! It's so forking funny, and it almost NEVER cancels out the tension or undermines the emotional moments! Truly, The Good Place was lightning in a bottle. Michael Shur & Team, you mad, mad people! Also, if you ever catch interviews of the cast after the show, you may notice that D'Arcy Carden wears on her wrist the necklace Jason gave Janet.

2026-01-15 10:56:28 +0000 UTCTHERE'S NO BETTER GOD DAMN SHOW how good is this ENTIRE series. It's not possible to sum up just how good everything about it is from it's scenarios to it's casting from the smallest details to the most important parts of it everything was perfect. Did you know that only Kristen Bell and Ted Danson knew about the Bad Place reveal and there's a video of the actors for Chidi Janet and Jason sat at a table reading it for the first time? It's my go to for whenever I need a "Good Place" hit. Glad you enjoyed it, I had a feeling you'd love it.

2026-01-15 05:00:41 +0000 UTCThis is my favorite finale of any show ever, it's so perfect. This show is so perfect. I love watching it and I especially love watching it with people. Thank you so much for your heartfelt reactions, for letting us just a little bit into your life, and for connecting with strangers through shared enjoyment and shared solace in such a beautiful piece of art.

2026-01-15 04:58:24 +0000 UTCA few additional thoughts (forgive me for rambling, but this is my last Good Place reaction comment) I don't know what those sparkly things people turn into when you walk through the door, but I have always seen them as that "little voice" that Elenor described encouraging people to do good things. When it hit that guy at the end, he changed his mind about throwing out someone else's mail and delivered it to Michael instead. Michael's name at the end when he turned into a real person was Michael Realman, which is a fun call back to his series of crazy names in season 3. The guitar teacher at the end was Ted Danson's real-life wife. Thank you for reacting to this show. It has been so great re-watching it with you.

2026-01-15 04:47:05 +0000 UTCI’m going to think about this quote forever
sailor kayla🌙
2026-01-15 04:43:38 +0000 UTC“Picture a wave. In the ocean. You can see it, measure it, its height, the way the sunlight refracts when it passes through. And it's there. And you can see it, you know what it is. It's a wave. And then it crashes in the shore and it's gone. But the water is still there. The wave was just a different way for the water to be, for a little while. The wave returns to the ocean, where it came from and where it's supposed to be.” Like you, there are times in my life that I have had existential crises and thinking of that quote (usually in Chidi's voice) always helped calm me. I think this show was a miracle. It was a comedy, a heart-felt drama, a fantasy show, and a philosophy class all in one. It is a show that made you laugh, cry, make you question your place in the universe, but also give you the tools to find your own good place in that universe. Not sure if there will be anything else like it, but we can all appreciate that it existed for the time it did, kind of like a wave.
