Well, Eleanor was pretty bad on earth herself. Let's be honest, if she herself wasnt dealing with him on earth, her past self would find him and everything he does hilarious because it causes someone else misery. Just cause we understand why she turned out bad doesnt mean she herself wasnt an awful person. Thats why we love her, she learned and grew from it all

It's also a very poetic way to die for him, given that it's his privilege, entitlement and unearned confidence, all leading to one final act of stupidity. Yet he STILL doesn't realize what's wrong.
