You got a good point there about how it could have really gone off the rails given the premise they have to work with and in hindsight it's one of the reasons I fell even more in love with the show, they could have taken it anywhere, good or bad, and they went with the best direction IMO.

But as this show as gone on, it keeps getting deeper in its exploration of complex philosophical ideas and its emotional impact in ways it could not have at the start. Plus, none of that sacrifices its humor throughout. That definitely continues into next season and I am excited to watch it with you. Also, I think this show is unique (especially for a live action comedy) in that its premise allows them to do anything. That could go off the rails, but these writers can tell this ridiculous story but still keep it grounded. I mean the last scene had a sentient Alexa-character giving a pep talk about the secret of life to a dead human who was pretending to be a god that was sad after erasing her boyfriend's memory and it was great. How great was Kristen Bell in this episode though? Her delivering the line "I'm a legit snack" while fighting through tears was so good.
