The direction and camerawork of the opening scene of S2E1 was such a departure and far outclassed anything in S1. Really, the entire first arc of S2 may be my favorite of what's been adapted so far. The tracking shot of ****** vs. ********* in S2E7 was stunning. One would have to be a dedicated contrarian to argue that anything in S1 surpasses the technical quality of Yuji vs. ***** in S2E13. It really seemed to me like the animators at Mappa took what they learned during their work on Chainsaw Man and leveled up. I think it would be fair to say that each season at the time of airing looks great , and S1 still holds up very nicely.

2024-02-24 07:31:07 +0000 UTCfake news, s2 is a mess with animators complaining how little time and how unfinished some episodes are, you can see shortcuts taken by them and most of the action is lower quality than this fight and the ones around ep18, add to that ghosting and dimming and s2 is a disappointment for the most part
