I think this is also when i had to start to watch one episode per day for a while instead of binging as many episodes as i had time for in a day. I had to let the emotional impact sink in so i would not be over whelmed. So i think i sort of get that feeling you are talking about of the show daring us to run away.

And I've been waiting for this moment for a long time because I knew how much you would like the thoughtfulness this show brings to the table. 86 isn't perfect. There are times it gets frustrating. But damn, it challenges me. It smacks me in the face and asks me uncomfortable questions just like Theo. It dares me to run away. And as I sit here, it saddens me that the show also dares its audience to run away. Lena as waifu/sex goddess is pudding. Lena staring into the abyss and realizing her own cowardice and complicity in what the 86 are having to do--that's the hard lesson. That doesn't sell merchandise.
