Thought you would get a kick out of this after you had done BGC and GSC! Used to love Sonoda's stuff back in the 80's and 90's. You can tell he was a bit of a petrol head.

2021-08-03 19:57:24 +0000 UTClove this. riding bean is one of the best anime, that i feel there needs to be more of. after watching this for the first time bean immediately became one of my all time favorite characters. i watched and read all of the gunsmith cats series just to see him the handful of times he appears. i always felt that rally and bean from gsc was just an 80's action move turned romantic comedy. between the hints of sexual tension, the shared love of fast cars, and the drama when they are opposite sides of the same job just make the both the anime and manga wonderful. These series are great for how the deal with mature themes. not just sexuality and violence but more serious topics like the effects of drugs or crimes involving children. what's great isn't just that they are not shying away from it, but also how unlike other series they aren't just showing it for shock value or to show how desensitized the world is (cough black lagoon cough). these bad things happen to people who while not entirely good in the legal sense, are good at heart. bad things happen to good people, being involved with bad things even for good reasons can create bad outcomes and and sometimes you just lose. this is a mature idea and really makes this show and gsc feel like (despite all its fanservice and action nonsense) it is an anime made for adults. not just for kids watching something edge to feel more adult. im so glad you reacted to this. oh and if i can make some suggestions, if you liked the guns and cars here try the one off Lupin III castle of cagliostro. besides being the directorial debuted of one Hayao Miazaki, its a much more mature feeling piece than any other lupin I've ever seen. with some of the best animations. there are youtobe videos that cover better than i can explain but the set of the castle is so well developed in space that you can actual map it out in real space. ( https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1ksz2s best one i know of but spoilers) also if you are a fan of sakuga Redline is a must. I don't know if you've seen these before but there not on your channel so here's hoping. but even if you have i know i would still love to see you watch and analyze them just to hear your thoughts.
