I kinda took ot as the death of the father somehow affected the mountain and this caused the light vein to move, and then the volcano (or maybe it was the other way around), but the miscommunication about the son of the guardian kinda gets turned around, he kinda is. It's a story where the mushi business and the social human life come together a lot. How the wandering people are a mediator between the public and the mushishi. We were shown in other episodes how alienating the mushi business can be for someone, bit here it's the other angle, how in the end were are all people in the world, and it's all home
