Mushishi 4 + 5 Early Access

Not sure if you'll see this Tee since it's been several days since this was posted, but I'll chuck it up anyway. What I love about Mushishi is that despite the horror and tragedy that some episodes contain, it still maintains this soothing quality somehow. It's like, "and this, too, shall pass" captured in art. For me Mushishi is wonderful because it captures all the colours of life. It captures wonder, joy, awe, fear, hatred, heartbreak, despair, guilt and more. But all the while as the viewer, these emotions wash over us and pass. It's as if Mushishi is saying "this is life too, and it will pass". And somehow I end up feeling... acceptance.

A Suresh

I watched the show several years ago and now that I am rewatching it with Teeaboo, I found myself looking at Mushi as an analogy to virus. Viruses are basically like super tiny machinery that is designed to free-ride the biologic system of cell-based organisms to multiply, which makes it controversial even to say whether it is a "life" or not. Their goal is the conservation of their own genes through this process and there is no malicious intention behind their acts upon humankind, even when that kills millions of people worldwide - they are just “carrying on their lives” as Ginko explains.
