Devil Spy 171

Good afternoon, everyone! Here's the latest Devil Spy page for you, hope you like it. I took last week off for the holidays so sorry it's a little late. I'm catching back up now and think I'll be back on schedule shortly. I hope that you all had some good times over the past week.

On the more serious news side: 

December was unfortunately not a great month for me when it comes to comics. Due to personal stuff mostly, I've been having a hard time drawing them. I also lost a lot of patrons this month (well, in November as well) which I'm really hoping wasn't due to my content (but also really hoping it's not because everyone is struggling financially). But it's made me realize I can't devote as much time to comics as I have been. On average from start to finish I probably spend about 16 hours a week on comics, the rest of the time I draw other stuff for fun but neither of these things pays the bills unfortunately. Most of my income these days comes from commissions, once they're open again I think it makes more sense for me to concentrate on those rather than personal comics. So my plan as of now is to finish out this chapter of Devil Spy and the current episode of Chunky Skunk and discontinue comics for the time being. I think there's probably about 3 or so pages left of this chapter, it'll end on a cliffhanger which is really unfortunate and I swear I didn't plan it that way... but I can't really do anything about that now. Chunky Skunk is about halfway through the current episode so wrapping that up will take about 2 months I think. Once the two series' chapter/episodes have wrapped up, I'll pause my Patreon so you won't be charged any further... and if you want to bail before then that's totally understandable. I will give everyone a heads up before it happens, but I'm thinking end of February.

It's been something I've seen coming... but I've been fighting it hard for the past year. It's not entirely for financial reasons (I'm doing okay*knock on wood*) it has a lot more to do with my mental health but I'll spare y'all the details there.  Just know that it wasn't something I decided on a whim or in haste. I really do appreciate all the support you've given me over the years and all the nice things you've had to say about the comics. 

This isn't to say I'm giving up on comics forever. It'll just be one of those things where I'll work on a page here and there when inspiration strikes. I just don't know when that'll be.

I may end up opening another Patreon which will be focused more on commissions and my side art. I'm still trying to work out the details for it and what I can offer there that patrons might be interested in so that's all up in the air right now. If you're ever curious about it, you know where to find me, I'm sure. ;)

Anyway, sorry if this news was a bummer. I really do hope you're all having a good holiday and I hope you enjoy the rest of the content I make in 2019. See you all in the new year. :)
