Good morning, $5+ patrons! Here's the sketch dump for April. I didn't think I did much sketching this month at all but after much scanning this morning, I found I had quite a few sketches to share. So much so, I actually split them up into 2 images, I think for the first time! The above sketches are all Chunky Skunk based so I kept them all together, the image below has a slight mix of Devil Spy and Blue stuff.
Above:
Row 1: This is probably my favorite sketch from the month, just the baby bun interrupting Ben and Vincent's date night. :) I really like this sketch, I plan to ink and color it at some point when I have some free time. I could definitely see Stevie being quite the nuisance when the boys are trying to have a quiet night on the couch.
Row 2: Just a quick sketch of skunk and bunny hugs. I can't remember why I drew this, I feel like I was going to use it for something and forgot about it. I really like how Ben's face turned out in this one.
Here's another instance of Stevie being a nuisance, haha. I was picturing the boys trying to kiss goodbye for the night or something and Stevie decides it's time to examine/comment on Vincent's big skunk tail. :)
Row 3: Quick sketch of Stevie begging Ma Hopper (geez, she still needs a name!) for treats at the grocery store. I don't know what Classic Bunny Cakes are but I want some...
Rows 4 and 5: I spent the past week writing a new episode of Chunky Skunk to take place after the current one after realizing Ben doesn't appear much in the current episode, nor the one following it and I wanted to remedy that by adding a very Ben heavy episode in between. The basic 'plot' of the episode is that Vincent gets scared being home alone and very reluctantly, but innocently invites Ben to spend the night. So these sketches are just like practice for illustrating the episode.
There's a part where Ben realizes he forgot to bring PJ's and has to borrow some of Vin's, but of course they don't fit very well.
In another part, Vin falls asleep and Ben carries him to bed so I wanted to get a feel for what that would look like. I put pics of both of these sketches up publicly, but I wanted to share better scanned versions of them with y'all. :)
I did a few more sketches of Vin in these booty short pj's. I really like how he looks in them, though I'm not sure if I'll end up drawing him in them in the finished comic version, like I'm not sure if he'd be comfortable wearing booty shorts around Ben so soon... but maybe.... Also, he has a brownie in that last one because brownies happen that night too, haha.
Row 6: Just the boys sharing a milkshake. I will likely ink and color this one too at some point because it's really cute, even though I have to fix Ben's wonky face, haha.

For the second part here:
Row 1: A quick sketch of Wyatt and Waverly. I've been really neglecting to get some good Devil Spy sketching in lately, so I'm hoping I can get some more done in May. But for now, just enjoy this one. :)
Row 2-4: Just a mix of sketches of Blue, Tabby and my unicorn character (who I'm just going to refer to as Kirin for now, I may not stick with that name). The first drawing of Tabby and Blue is an earlier version and I think in the more recent drawings I've done of her, her face is a little different.
I sketched Blue's bunny butt trying to get a feel for how he might look if his head is down a little and his legs are staggered like he's creepin'.
In the next one, I just drew him being hella excited about a fruit plate Tabby brought him, haha.
Row 5: These were a couple Kirin sketches I did last night when I was trying to get a feel for how their legs look under their clothes. I still need SO much practice trying to draw these hoof feet legs, haha. I must've drawn them and erased them like five times last night. So, I think their bottom half is entirely furry. Any of my humanoid characters with these type of legs in both Blue and Vincent's stories will have entirely furry bottom halves like this.
Last night I was watching Jake draw a version of Modest Medusa without snake hair and she had legs and it got me thinking... Kirin doesn't really ever venture out into the human world, so while they can affect a human form, it's probably not something they really ever do. So they probably have a really hard time trying to walk on human legs, haha.
Anyway, that's all for now! I hope you like the sketches, thank you so much for your continued support!
