No Comics This Week Plus Upcoming Stuff Etc.

Good morning everyone! I just wanted to drop a reminder that since I took last week off, there won't be a new comic update this week. I also wanted to just mention some general news about what will be coming in the next few weeks and maybe setting some new goals and changing the reward tiers. 

Chunky Skunk Episode 2: The positive response to my Chunky Skunk comic has encouraged me to continue on with episode 2. :) The second installment will be an illustrated version of the second Vincent story I wrote about where Vincent meets his friend Maddie. I'd like to change the narrative a little for the comic and add a short part where Vincent meets his other friend Ethan, so I have a little bit of writing to do. Since it's the beginning of a new month, I need to spend the week working on my commissions for the month, then I'll need to do comic layouts for CS Ep2, so it will be a few weeks before it starts. The pages will be available weekly to $5+ patrons again.

Willem Hiatus: There's about 8 pages left of the current chapter of Willem. Once it's finished I'll need to take some time off to write the next chapter and do the comic layouts. In all honesty, the future of the Willem series in uncertain right now. While I'm grateful for the small and dedicated fan base the comic has, it is by far a very unpopular series. I've wrestled for years with the question of whether or not my time might be better spent working on something else rather than the hours I devote to continuing Willem every week. I never seem to increase my readership with updates, and being that I've had to drop down to updating every other week, I think getting new readers has become even more difficult. I'm leaning towards a new plan for the series... I'm going to finish out the current chapter, then take it out of my current comic rotation. I'm not going to abandon the series, but it will be going on the back burner. I'll plan to work on pages whenever I have some free time and probably release them whenever I finish a chapter. I'm not sure yet what I will replace Willem with, it might be the next chapter of Wings Over Hyrule (see more about this below). I'm open to suggestions.

Wings Over Hyrule Chapter 4: Wings Over Hyrule Has been on hiatus for quite some time. I've written the next chapter but just haven't had time to work on page layouts so it hasn't started again yet. I originally removed WOH! from Patreon when they changed their rules about posting fan art for patrons, but seeing as how I keep seeing creators on here posting nothing but fan art/licensed material for money, this doesn't seem to be something Pateon is seriously concerned about, so I don't see why WOH! can't continue updating here too. I'm hoping to get the next chapter started within the next month.

Patreon Goals: My goals section has been pretty sparse for a while now, so I've been thinking lately that I should make some changes. I removed the current goal of $200 a month for weekly comic updates after some consideration. My Patreon has never even been close to hitting that goal anyway, so I figured it was time for a change. I've been having a lot of trouble with my back recently and I probably wouldn't be able to commit to weekly comic updates anytime soon unless I was able to hire help. Either a writer, inker, background artist or colorist... something like that. Which means I would have to set a higher goal where I could afford their wages. I'll have to do some research into what the cost for this would be and make a new milestone goal for it. Even finding someone who's writing or art skills are on par with or better than mine that I can afford will take some time too. :) I'd also like to add some more goals, but I'm not sure yet what. I'm open to suggestions for these too!

Reward Tiers: I'd like to add a few more reward options to my Patreon as well. I had one in mind which would be maybe $20/month where I would mail you one of my original art pieces every month. I draw everything on paper before inking and coloring it digitally, so I often have an over abundance of drawings. Would this be something people would be interested in? I'd like to add some more reward options too, but I'm not sure what. Again, I'm open to suggestions. :)
