Like the last two women who got rly close to Gray and cared about him a lot ended up having their lives cut short 😢 I think it’s understandable that he’d be pretty traumatized by that, especially when Juvia’s feelings for him are probably 100x stronger compared to Ul and Ultear. I’ve always thought that a part of Gray just wants Juvia to stay away so she doesn’t get hurt/sacrifice herself for him like the other two did
