A lot of people who didn't read Rave Master, which is the series he did before Fairy Tail, wouldn't notice the Easter Eggs and references of it in Fairy Tail. He always has the previous mascot character have a small cameo in the next series. Plue was the mascot for Rave Master. The Edens Zero Happy has about the same level of role. On top of that there's always a different version of the people who have the eye mark Jellal has. It goes back to Hiro Mashima's original main character from his one shot called Magician. In the manga HERO'S, which is an alternate timeline where all of his series Cross over there's hints that the people who have that eye mark have some form of special significance, but he hasn't revealed it yet.
