The reason ichigo's dad couldn't help could possibly be related to the same reason he wasn't able to help his wife from big Fisher hollow. As they explained in this episode about his powers only now returning. As for urahara, he's preparing for the final battle on ground zero Karakura town as is everyone else, since like they explained that's Aizen's final goal.
