Yes, Flash step is the correct name. So first release is Shikai. The term will be used a lot from now on, remember it. A requirement to become a captain is to first reach bankai. The only one promoted without it, without even shikai is Kenpachi and he's still on level with captains, because of his monstrous spiritual power. If he'll ever reach shikai and beyond, i wonder....also reaching bankai doesn't mean you're already on captain level, but you have to reach it to hope to achieve captain spot.
