I have only seen your reactions to here so far, but I hope you have found out that when characters say something it's not always the reality, more what they think. Their hypothesis so to say. Or in this instance just a facade.

2021-07-12 23:45:03 +0000 UTCHi, just to clarify, Arlong is not a Warlord. They brought them up only to draw a comparison between him and Jimbei (the actual fishman Warlord). The money exchange between the Marine officer and Arlong was a separate transaction. Yeah, the way they showed it in the anime was a little misleading.
