Hi Evie, I wasn't sure if you understood that the man Sydney was trying to get to in Cape Town at the end of the episode was Calder (aka Valenko). He was the man in the video with Sydney's mom that she recognized as the other person who supposedly died in the accident with her Mom. I'm sure the majority of her motive in finding him was to learn more about her Mom. Noah turned out to be the freelance assassin for hire, The Snowman. He was on the CIA's most wanted list for 12 years, so he was doing it before he met Sydney and he was the person who injured the man that Vaughn went to see to try and find out more information about the Snowman. That man told Vaughn the Snowman liked to use an ice pick to do his killing and he asked Vaughn that when they catch the Snowman to make him suffer. The CIA learns that K-Directorate (another spy organization who Sydney's nemesis Anna Espinosa works for) hired the Snowman to kill Calder. It seems that Noah did get Calder's location and then did something to his laptop so nobody else would know, but Marshall was able to retrieve the information and that is how Sydney basically showed up at his house where the Snowman had already killed all the guards and interrupted him from his job of assassinating Calder. At that point, Noah wasn't expecting anybody and had to fight Sydney to keep her from finding out his identity.
