Supernatural 15x20 - "Carry On" FULL REACTION + The Long Road Home

This was beautifully said. Despite the terrible wig on Jared and DISRESPECT done to Kansas by playing that TERRIBLE version of 'CoMWS' at the end, I actually like this episode. Dean got his well deserved peace and Sam got his normal life. The one thing I wish they had done differently was given us more on Sam's life. By showing Dean in Heaven a few (real time) minutes aft he died lessened the impact. Who did he marry? (Jared doesn't think it's Eileen but I disagree with him like you, Dean II looks like Eileen) What did he do for a living? Did he continue to hunt? Show his son the Bunker?

2025-02-08 04:25:27 +0000 UTCThis finale makes all the sense in the world! It’s a lot to take in at first, watching this show and investing so much love and care for these characters that you simply don’t want to see go! It’s like knowing this is the last episode we already have a sour taste in our mouths that make us even more critical than usual which is understandable, nothing would ever be perfect enough, but I think this one is as close as it gets🥰 again Linda, thank you for all of your ramblings, they were always appreciated my friend🩷

2025-02-08 04:17:01 +0000 UTCI don't know how often I've rewatched the part of the episode that goes from Dean's entry into Heaven until the final scene on the bridge. As soon as he set foot there, he was already pining for his Sammy. :) I love that he didn't care an iota about anyone else, not even his parents. All he wanted to do was drive his Baby and pass the time until Sam joined him. It felt right to allow Sam to have that normal life he'd always desired, and I was so happy that he had a kid. Dean would have been too. In the bunker, Dean had been kinda upset that no one would remember them in the future, but Dean jr, will and if he has children, they will too. There's no denying Dean's joy when he senses Sam's arrival on the bridge. For the brotherly bond and love they share, and the sacrifices they have made for each other, eternity together as soulmates is what they deserve and more. Such a beautiful and heartfelt end scene that leaves you warm and fuzzy inside. I still miss them so much. :)

2025-02-05 18:57:18 +0000 UTCThe first three seasons were the absolute best of the Show. :)

2025-02-05 18:50:44 +0000 UTCBeautiful, wonderful Finale. Just Sam and Dean. It all began with them and so it ended. Chuck was no longer protecting them. Now they were just ordinary mortals and were far more vulnerable.

2025-02-05 18:39:48 +0000 UTCIt was a great run with you, Evie. I love this show and I honestly never had an issue with this episode; aside from Sam's hair 😆. I hope we get to see how season 16 starts and how we get Dean back! I will forever love this show, as it provided me with my eternal obsession with Jensen Ackles. Dean Winchester will forever be my all time favorite character on TV.

2025-02-01 23:06:19 +0000 UTCEvie, that was Ellen's Roadhouse in heaven where Dean found Bobby and yes, Sam is wearing an outfit from the first episode. Jared thought it would be fun for them to be wearing outfits from the pilot. The female vampire was from the end of the first season when Sam and Dean finally meet up with John and they are trying to get the colt from a nest of vamps. She had been tied up and they tried to rescue her, but she'd already been turned and we see John use the colt for the first time when he shoots the lead vamp in the head and we all see that it's real and works. All the other vamps drove away when they saw their leader get killed. Now you can watch all of the convention clips. Anytime someone asked J2 how they thought the show should end, they both said they felt it should end with them going out in a blaze of glory. If you think about it, Sam and Dean would just continue fighting. So the only other way they'd be able to end the show would be for us as the audience to image them always looking for the next case as they got older. The convention clip that I DM'd you was the first convention back after COVID restrictions and I love hearing from Jensen how the final scenes were supposed to end if not for damn COVID and so many people would love for them to film it now, the way it was supposed to be. I remember being SO mad that they didn't film the finale earlier so that COVID wouldn't have been an issue, but how were they supposed to know...

2025-02-01 18:49:19 +0000 UTCI can't wait for the post content stuff Linda, including the stuff I sent over to you. Evie - there's another documentary you should watch in your own time if it's not on the fan content and it's about the pandemic and how they left set thinking they'll be back in 2 weeks and then months later... there's some behind the scene stuff there
Sharon Owen
2025-02-01 17:58:15 +0000 UTCUnfortunately they did what they could with the pandemic running wild heaven was changed pretty heavily which sucked cause they planned on everyone whom we lost greeting dean just a shame heaven wasn’t what they wanted but still a great way to end the chapter after 15 years! SPNFamily ♾️ 🌹❤️

2025-02-01 17:37:46 +0000 UTCThis was an epic rollercoaster of a reaction, and completely recognizable since I think it was very much the reaction that I had. I watched the finale well after it aired (about a year, I think) because I started the show in the pandemic JUST before it ended. But thankfully I didn't have any spoilers. However, for whatever reason, I still just knew that the boys were going to die in the finale. I just felt like the show was going to want to give them heaven and peace. And I was okay with that, even if I knew it would be hard to watch. Talk about an understatement. I was a complete and utter basket case watching Dean die because like you, at the time, I thought it felt so out of the ordinary and weird, like it wasn't a big enough death for someone of Dean's badassery. But, like you, I also felt different after watching the ending of the episode, and then over time and with rewatches, I've come to see that (imo) it actually makes perfect sense. Because yes, Jack said he was going to be hands off, and Chuck was gone, Cas was gone, so there was no one to magically heal them or bring them back from the dead. You might say their built in plot armour was gone. 🫤 But also, beyond that, Dean ALWAYS knew he'd go out on a hunt. As he says, saving people, hunting things, it's what they do. And as we've seen many times on the show, hunters never know whether this hunt is gonna be the one to get them. Also, I came to realize that there's nothing saying how much time passed between the Chuck showdown and this episode. Miracle was still with them, but that means it could be as much as ten to twelve years later. The boys age beautifully, so it *could* be a decade between (Jensen and Jared have gone on record saying they think it was around five years or so). Meaning that they got to live their lives free of Chuck, in a happy routine for 5-10 years. Granted they deserved longer, but at least that means they didn't get their freedom just in time for Dean to die like the next day. Which was another thing that bothered me the first time I watched the finale. Also, also...Dean would NEVER have stopped hunting as long as there were people who needed saving, and Sam would NEVER have left his brother to hunt alone. So, with this outcome, Dean got the peace he deserved, and Sam got to live a life, have a family, and the Winchester name got to carry on. There is still a Dean Winchester in the world to fight the monsters. There's a lot to wonder about Sam's life after Dean. We just see a blurry outline of his wife in the scene where he's playing catch with Dean Jr. Many have speculated who blurry wife is. For my money, it's definitely Eileen. (It kind of looks like her, and Dean Jr. has her dark eyes.) We also don't know for sure whether Sam kept hunting. He may have just done that one last case we saw, and he may have just got his son the tattoo as a way to protect him from possession. However, I believe like you do, that with Chuck not constantly trying to make their lives "interesting" and tragic, the monsters were maybe a bit more manageable. I think he reached out to his network of hunters more often, maybe acted a bit the way Bobby had, as a hub for other hunters, getting them lore, covering for them with the authorities, etc. But yeah, helping out on cases too. He promised Dean that he'd "Always Keep Fighting" (a nice nod to Jared's Always Keep Fighting mental health campaign). So I think he kept hunting, even while balancing it with a normal life where he plays catch with his son and helps him with his homework! 😔 Anyway, summing up, my reaction to the finale was much the same as yours and Dean Winchester's death made me cry harder than any other character's death, ever. I should warn you, there are MANY in the fandom who HATE the finale and pretend it doesn't exist. Like, utterly LOATHE it. So, you'll likely get a lot of comments like that, including saying that Jensen HATED the finale too. But he's explained many times (I include some of his thoughts in the Post Show Content) that though in the beginning he had a visceral reaction, and was very unhappy that Dean died, after giving it time and thought, (and speaking with Kripke about it) he came around to the ending and saw it as a fitting and good end to the show, and is very proud of it. He's said that he understands both sides of the fandom, those who love it and those who hate it, and thinks they're both very valid in their feelings and I agree. Though I do think the hate is excessive sometimes, and that people get a bit crazy with it occasionally, which can make me a bit defensive of it. (As you can see! 😄) But mostly, I get it. Anyway, this was incredible and a perfect ending to this amazing journey! I can't wait to see all the post show content. It's gonna be great, and as the boys have said many times, the end of the show doesn't mean the end of the fandom, so I can't wait to see your Dean shirt! 😁❤️

2025-02-01 16:51:53 +0000 UTCSorry for another post - but that end scene helped to make up for what happened to Dean imo. I went to visit that very bridge (Spur 4 bridge) in 2023 almost literally 4 years to the day after they filmed there. That's my profile picture, and I was wearing basically what Dean was wearing in that finale ep (shorts instead of jeans though). I even made a little video with my funko pops there of the end scene, except Cas turned up too...

2025-02-01 16:02:13 +0000 UTCSo the rebar that impaled Dean... that's what also impaled Kimiko in the last episode of The Boys that you watched... I felt it was poetic in Jensen's roles. 'bye bye Rebar' said Jensen...

2025-02-01 15:53:12 +0000 UTCShout to the vampires on supernatural. Evie you couldn't stand the Vamp episodes . I always thought that was funny . I was like how a buffy fan don't like the Vampire episodes but I was like this commentary going to be funny this episode . I always disagreed about the love interest in the show . I felt Dean needed that . Sam needs it even more probably. An I didn't like they killed the two blonde hunters An Bobby . An leviathon still the season I didn't like . But besides for that great show . You made me a fan of supernatural again .
Tjbosslyfe
2025-02-01 15:49:37 +0000 UTCIf it makes you feel any better about the finale, there's a theory that there were years between this ep and last ep. So they lived a happy life for a few years before his death In regards to the paper on the desk - fans have concluded it's an application form for a job... (just another stab in the heart!)

2025-02-01 15:45:48 +0000 UTCVampire diaries brought me to the channel . But you got me back into supernatural. I was like I'm going to finish show when it ends at season 10 the show kept going . 2025-02-01 15:28:59 +0000 UTCStill amazing that you completed 15 seasons! In the clip I sent you, Jensen found someone who apparently watched all 15 seasons during COVID!

2025-02-01 14:54:20 +0000 UTCPeople were SO MAD at this ep. And harping on ''the wig''... But it's like...Fucking PERFECT. The more and more I watch it. Perfect.

2025-02-01 14:51:51 +0000 UTCYes, exactly! He's said numerous times that he's happy and proud of the finale and that it just took him a minute to get his head around it. I hope Evie chooses to watch The Winchesters too! But now, I'm off to watch the reaction! ❤️
Linda Moore
2025-02-01 14:28:29 +0000 UTCI've included all of that kind of stuff in the post show content videos I sent Evie. ❤️
Linda Moore
2025-02-01 14:26:43 +0000 UTCEvie, don’t forget to check out the link I sent you of Jensen explaining a few changes they had to make at the end of the episode due to the COVID lockdown that happened before they could finish filming the finale.
Tara
2025-02-01 14:24:14 +0000 UTCHe initially wasn't, but he came around after talking with Kripke. I agree about the Winchesters though.
Sharon Owen
2025-02-01 14:21:54 +0000 UTCGiven how even Jensen wasn't happy with this ending and took things into hisown hands, the Winchesters does a LOT to ease some of the bad taste the finale left behind. The only sad thing is that it only has 13 episodes. I think you'll love it.
