Thanks Evie! I noticed that as soon as the events shaped up, you were imagining possible solutions. This episode has a slew of references and ties throughout the series and a couple that I always note are: even in episode 1 Kaylee is complaining about the catalyzer (and again when Mal takes her to task about the mess in the engine room in episode 2). So Kaylee didn't miss any signs of trouble. Another point I always remember is Mal's "everybody dies alone" belief when he asks at the end "you all going to be here when I wake up?" - because if he's not imagining them, he must not be dying. His crew is proof he's alive. And of course you noted that the Captain adjusts his style as needed for the personalities involved 😃. Hope your cough gets better!
