Well, see it positive Evie: You didn't have to be disappointed in Mary for very long. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Chuck let's all kind of stuff happen to the Winchesters . An he been around since the beginning of time . Jack should have that same grace.

I feel Jack age don't really matter . He basically a God. So who can say he not right about everything. With that kind of power. It's has to corrupt. He wouldn't be lucifer son if he didn't go dark.

Tjbosslyfe

I feel the like Mary can't tell how much soul Jack has left . It's no way to Gage if Jack she knows is still there. So Mary does not know he lost 100 % of his soul . Jack still doing nice things. Is Jack soulless or just abusing power . Mary can't really tell .

yeah BYE Nick! but yeah, killing humans is not something they've ever been okay with! It reminds me a lot of Buffy Season 6 (if you're familiar) but Buffy has a very similar attitude towards justice being brought to HORRIBLE humans.

You know what, in the moment I didn't even think of the cruelty of the method but I can see now that that's what upset Mary or at least made her scared. I still think she handled it badly but I get it! sorry Mary :'(

Great reaction, as always! I understand where you're coming from with the whole Nick situation. So, here's my feelings about what happened with Nick. Nick dying is hardly a loss to mankind. He was a terrible person (now) and had every intention of bringing Lucifer back. He wouldn't have stopped. I don't think killing him was necessarily even the problem that Mary had. It was more the way Jack did it. Jack is the most powerful being in the world. He easily could have snapped Nick out of existence - boom - dead in half a second. But, instead, he relished in the pain he was inflicting, the power that came from torturing Nick. First snapping all his fingers and twisting them the way he did, then slowly burning him to death. It wasn't Nick's death that bothered Mary, I don't think, it was how Jack's own power seemed to almost possess him. With his soul, he may not have been able to kill Nick at all, but even if he had, he would have just done it fast and painless, like putting down a wild animal. And that's why she was so worried about him. The first time around I felt much more like you do. Thinking, like "Do we honestly care that Nick is dead?" It's only been on subsequent rewatches that I've been able to understand why Mary was really disturbed by Jack's actions, and why she said what she said to him. I do think Sam and Dean would be worried if they'd seen it. I also think she was hoping to try and show him (as she said) that he was family and no matter what, even if he was feeling the way he was, even despite his actions with Nick, they'd help him, they'd figure something out. Though I agree, she could have worded things and explained things a little better. I think maybe she was just a bit shocked to see this sweet boy she'd only ever seen as unwaveringly kind, acting in this way. You were saying she was acting like he was dangerous, but I think it was because she felt whatever was radiating from him in that moment of killing Nick, and so she was kind of afraid of him, which was sort of throwing her out of whack. However, I do agred that I wish that fear of him would have made her step back. But I think she was genuinely worried about this kid she saw as one of her boys, and as a mom we both know when our kids are hurt or seem to be in crisis, our instinct is to reach out to them, as though, if we can just get our hands on them, we can pull them close and keep them safe. ๐Ÿ˜” She made the wrong call. I was with you for every "I love Dean" moment in this episode. ๐Ÿ˜ (Him setting up Mouse Trap - "Son of a bitch!" ๐Ÿ˜„ Him kicking that demon's ass - of course! ๐Ÿ’ช And his reaction to Sam waking up. ๐Ÿ˜ญ The way he spins away from him so terrified and then so immediately and completely relieved.) As to Jack's soul, I think the fear is that without his soul, he still understands theoretically what's right and wrong, he can understand the idea that Sam and Dean were going to be upset with what he did, (hence his upset) but he doesn't feel it. His power is no longer tempered by a need to keep people safe, or to "be good". So without that, all he has is the exhilaration that comes from using his powers (which we also saw when he was swinging around the angel blade with Max and the others). He has nothing inherent inside him that tells him to be careful with humans, or watch out to not hurt them. And with the most powerful creature on earth, that's an incredibly important piece. It's why Cas is so worried, and why he should have told the boys he knows Jack's soul is completely gone. Without that part of him, he's a lot closer to what Dean feared at the beginning of S13, a creature of extreme power with no real internal barometer to tell him how to act. Anyway, fabulous reaction! Looking forward to the last few of the season!

I think Mary was so upset because Nick (Even after all the horrible things he has done) is still human and not an actual monster. And maybe killing a human goes against her internal code to hunting. But I agree he needed to be killed. Heโ€™s a serial killer who wants to bring the devil back to earth lol
