Thanks Evie! My take away lines here are: "I cannot abide useless people", "I think he knows which end to hold", "why would I want to leave Serenity?". I think by the rules, Inara interjecting after Mal was on the ground was not direct interference with the fight - the fact that Atherton lost his focus for Mal to attack was his own failure, and fair game. Great reaction.
