*** please excuse my brain fart at the very start of the episode lol, when they are talking about the wall and sending a man to fortify it, for some reason I thought they were talking about sacrificing a man to keep the peace with what was beyond the wall but this is pre-GOT (not that they did that in GOT) but anyway DON'T MIND ME π¬π«Άπ»

He's always been abused by his own family and never gotten any love from them, which I think explains a bit why he's misbehaving so much when among them, as that's all he's ever known. I'm not sure if he's being reasonable with the common people simply because he's a rebellious teenager going against his family, or if he actually cares about the common people. But what seems to be case is that they give him the attention and love he's never received from his family. We saw this in last season too in ep 9, when all the common people were cheering for him, something he's never experienced before.
