It seems that Jesse gets the crap beat out of him every season. First by Tuco, then Tuco again in the 2nd season and now by Hank in the 3rd season. Some people were worried that this show would glamorize the illegal drug business, but it does the opposite. Every time Walt and Jesse get ahead, there is a big setback and lose the money they made on getting out of the latest foul up.

Like you said, a complex relationship. -Both Walt and Jesse have reasons to be frustrated with each other. -Both Walt and Jesse have exhibited irrational behavior toward each other. -Both Walt and Jesse have exhibited good behavior toward each other. -Walt needlessly goes over the top too much negative.
