Well because God has arrived on earth... by itself is a huge "what's going to happen next" and because it should be clear Michael's plan was to cause a huge fight to get God to come down, and Chloe is left with Lucifer disappearing when he was about to say I love you.... And Lucifer is not vulnerable anymore, etc. Maybe it's no big deal, but at the time there were many months between ep 8 and the rest of the half season to come out, so all those questions and more were a cliff hanger to many....

2023-10-23 20:50:32 +0000 UTCOhhh it's cool that the season is kind of split like that! I had a feeling things were happening fast (and I love it) I just kept expecting stuff to slow down at some point and get more filler episodes! I just watched 5x08 and OH MY GOD (literally) so excited!!!

2023-10-23 19:27:35 +0000 UTCThis was such a good episode and focused on losing or lack of power... lots of links between characters and situations. I think Luci for the first time ever in his long long life surrendered himself completely to another person- Chloe, and this had something to do with vulnerability, loss of power, mojo etc. Maybe it is all part of this self actualising as Celestials seem to struggle with emotions and often turn them into physicality? Just ideas. It was a sweet beginning and a dramatic ending. Linda continues to be amazing and is the only one still to really understand Lucifer but there is hope that in this new relationship between Chloe and Luci that Chloe will do her very best to understand and be there for him when he has these struggles which I am sure are not over yet. I think he still has deep, deep emotions from his past (as Linda said) that need to resolved. The next episode as D Boss said is definitely hanging over the cliff by your fingernails ending. It was the end of season 5A! Just remember that we poor mortals, who watched this in real time had to wait over 12 months for 5B but you can sail on and see where THAT ending will lead! I recall one of the writers (or was it a Director? Not sure) said to the fans that 5A set up the season and 5B gave us the answers to many of our questions. Thank you for coming back so soon with Lucifer (and the other Shows) as I thought your little one would keep you away from us for longer. Sending best wishes to you and the new family. 2023-10-20 20:59:57 +0000 UTCYou have it exactly right when you said "they self actualize". Lucifer chooses to be vulnerable around Chloe, and once they got very intimate, he felt even more vulnerable so lost his mojo.... The next episode should be titled "la grande le cintre de la falaise" !
