I love that Chloe was not THE gift but the gift was that she was put on earth to see Lucifer for himself. The fact that they desired each other, fell in love was never a manipulation but free will. It made me think how sad it was for Luci that everyone desired him just to fulfill their own desires... as if he was a facilitator for favours or worse as some sort of celestial sex toy to satisfy their own sexual desires. Thinking back to season 2 'Stewardess Interruptus' none of them cared for him, for being with him was to fulfill their own desires- how sad. Lucifer was able to read their desires and give them what they wanted (sexually or favours ) but who knew what Lucifer needed or who cared? I remember in one episode (can't remember which one) when Amenadiel was talking to Dan and Dan was talking about Lucifer's lifestyle and the many and frequent 'relationships' such as they were, and Amenadiel said 'How lonely, that must be' and Dan thought he was crazy but once again, somehow without trying, Amenadiel saw the truth! Now we know that Lucifer's confusion sometimes where Chloe is concerned (thinking back through the first three seasons) was because he has never been able to read her desires as she was unaffected by his 'mojo'. Now, Lucifer can have a relationship with someone real and Chloe can love Lucifer knowing it is not and has never been a manipulation. I love how this has worked out and it makes all the will they/won't they shenaggins make perfect sense. They needed to get to this point together. I just hope Lucifer can handle this new idea and the certain amount of loss of control and the unknown- this is all so knew to him, especially now he knows and accepts the manipulation is false and self-actualisation of angels is in their own hands as it were! Also, these scriptwriters love trolling the fans! Wow, long post- sorry, got a bit carried away!
