2023-06-09 03:30:33 +0000 UTCAn insightful reaction and I liked your theory that God was annoyed at the way he has been portrayed as so controlling by Lucifer and wanted to set the record straight! Of course at the end of season 3 episode 24, Luci had begun to realise it was maybe all about choices and particularly for celestials all about self-actualisation and not just their father, God pulling the strings. I enjoyed this episode first time around because I thought it was amusing and entertaining but hadn't looked too deeply into the possible deeper meanings behind it. It was great fun to rewatch it with you and think about it in a different way. I am excited now to see what you think about season 4 as we return to the main story- Chloe knows the truth now.... Chloe knows! We have waited three seasons for this over 56 episodes and the truth is out now.

Almost like how His children have some small sliver of his powers, such as Uriel being able to detect patterns and make one tiny change to affect all the human and even celstial choices that followed... So God does not micro manage everything, he tweaks here or there to initiate a pattern - then it's the choices everyone makes with their free will that creates the resultant reality. The understanding of how this "lucifer" universe works will come around again as things really unfold later. So in that sense it is an important episode in the overall story. I was foolish when it happened originally and I did not bother to watch this one until much later as I was pissed they had canceled it. And when Netflix came out with season 4 I started right into that. But it was a mistake to not watch this one sooner than I did, for precisely the reasons that you discerned after watching it! (this understanding helps as the real story progresses)
