This was a really enjoyable episode that allowed to see a little more into the celestial world and let us meet another sibling. You are right about Ella mentioning 'the voices' back in episode 6 'Vegas with some radish'. I recall, she used counting cards as a method to quieten the voices- who we now know was a very chatty Azrael! Like you, I filed that little snippet of information away and trusted that the writers would let us know more later. This episode was to develop that so I am glad that even after the series was first cancelled at the end of season 3, the episode was not lost. The next episode, as has been said, is a filler episode and partially linked to an important part of the plot past and ongoing and it does make sense as D Boss states, fitting in to the Lucifer universe, and also is just a very funny romp!

2023-06-01 20:28:11 +0000 UTCRegarding you not knowing Azrael - not sure if you just mean not knowing what she looks like or that you don't remember her Name at all. Season 3 was after all long enough to let you forget stuff ... But we did hear of her in Season 2: Azrael's blade, the basis of the Flaming Sword, stolen from the Angel of Death by Uriel. Her physique finally explains why that "sword" was so short ... :D

That is an excellent observation indeed! I wonder if she inspires any other celestials? I agree with you, this is not a mere "filler" it is an important thread in the tapestry of the many story lines. It's out of place, but still important. Some think the next one is a mere filler too, however it shows us something really important about how this universe works.
