Aww. Thank you. 😊 I didn’t think of what Benny represented the first few watches myself because I was caught up in just liking his character.

Every time she talks in this episode, I want to throw something at her. When she says, "Are we going to have this whole conversation with me finishing your sentences?" I just want to scream, "You’re the one who keeps interrupting him, dummy!" Like, she says it like it’s "their couple thing" like finishing each other's sentences, but it’s just her. Also, I just noticed when she told Sam he’s the first and last thing she thinks about, he didn’t actually return the sentiment, rather he agreed that he knows what it’s like. I think Sam was clinging to the illusion of a happy non-hunting life with her, more than he’s actually crazy about her. The best part of the Sam-Amelia scenes in this episode for me was Sam's lack of a shirt. Dean tells Sam "it’s both feet in or both feet out, otherwise you’re going to end up dead". Sam picks Dean and Hunting, letting go of both Amelia and a "normal" life. There is definitely a large element of Dean giving up Benny for Sam's sake and as a gesture for him. But Benny is also from another world in two ways. He’s a monster, and a Monster and Hunter hanging out has potential dangers involved (particularly from other hunters). Benny also represents the year in Purgatory, so Dean has to let him go in order to move on with Sam and as a hunter with "both feet in." It sucks because Benny is great, but it actually makes sense. We see in the scene where they are rescuing Samadriel that Sam and Dean are in sync and are at their best when fighting and working together; they don’t even have to verbally communicate. Yet, at the end of the episode, we see that they’ve chosen each other, but they aren’t necessarily happy about it. They feel sort of isolated with each other. I don’t think the point is that the guys can’t have friends or relationships outside of each other, but rather, when Sam and Dean don’t have their relationship (the most important one in their lives) in a good place it has a spiral effect that can hurt other people, as well as themselves. How enmeshed Sam and Dean are with each other is both beautiful (they love each other so much!) but terrible (they can hurt each other—and others—so much).

God, I hated that character. I do love Benny though. So, not happy to see him go. I love Cas and feel sorry for him. But, I gotta say I do enjoy the Naomi character. I don't like how she goes about her business but I actually like the character. I like the actress so maybe that plays into it, but I think she is a strong person. Next two episodes are really good.

Brothers need love outside of each other . I hope Sam and dean do fine love outside of just them being together. Who want to be lonely for there whole life . We have to think about that when we say we don't care about Sam and dean love interest.

2023-05-10 21:34:35 +0000 UTCFabulous episode - fabulous reaction. This episode is really interesting in that we learn a little bit more about what's happening with Naomi and how she's operating. I feel so terrible for Cas too. When he healed the baby in the park, that was so sweet - it's literally all he wants to do, just atone by helping people, saving them. But he's not being allowed to. 🥺 As to Amelia and Sam, it's probably mean of me, but I was so relieved and happy when Amelia showed up and Sam wasn't there. I mean, it would have been better if she hadn't showed up either, then both of their choices would have aligned. But I mean, I understand choosing Sam Winchester. Again in this episode though, I just find her so irritating. She just grates on me, and I was very happy to see the back of her. I feel exactly as you do about Dean's choice regarding Benny. I do completely understand his choice, and support the sentiment behind it. But I'm sure it will be very hard on Benny. I think Dean was basically his last link to humanity after losing Elizabeth. So, losing him too will likely be very difficult. But the boys are a team again, and I'm happy about that, even though I feel bad that they both looked pretty sad at the end. 😔 The next episode is absolute gold, imo. Can't wait for your reaction! 😍
