From an outside perspective it isn't that far fetched to assume that Claire had something to do with the murder. Only we, as viewers know and love the characters. We know Claire & Jamie are honest and morally good people. For the settlers on the ridge they are just the proprietors, the people in power, who often misuse their power and influence. Besides these people are very religious and in comparison to us not well enducated, therefore Claire (regardless of her good deeds) will always be a bit suspicious/ scary to them.

Sure it’s not my favorite season but I disagree with Terry, it definitely doesn’t “suck”. I enjoyed season 6 and there was a lot that was well adapted from the books. It does feel like it is missing a little something but I believe it’s because it doesn’t feel like a typical full season of Outlander. 8/10, I really loved Cait’s acting this episode.

I share Evie's second guess, or perhaps her first - the Christies are religious and Religion is the greatest evil ever devised by mankind - oh yes, the Christies are evil... so very evil! My guess... Allen Christie (or Tom). Season 6 sucks.
