Hi Evie, I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie watching it again as an adult. I had a feeling that you would. As you mentioned, it's a complex world and the characters are so interesting. This first movie does a great job of letting us get to know the characters and setting up their journey. Each movie gets more epic than the previous one. Aragorn seemed to be nervous about being weak around the ring because his ancestor, Isildor, cut the ring off the finger, but wasn't strong enough to destroy it when he had the chance and wanted to keep it for himself. I probably didn't help that Boromir was seduced by the ring and wanted it. Hobbits are pure of heart, so it doesn't affect them in the same way that it affects men. They filmed all 3 movies back to back in New Zealand and I believe it was for 18 months. The Shire, with the hobbit houses built into the hills have been an area where people can go and visit ever since the movies came out and a lot of people have gone to see The Shire.
