Elijah (being Rebekah’s brother) is the family part and the fall is her getting daggered. Rebekah asked Elijah to do that as it would get the “by family” part of the prophecy over with (not to mention it would keep Rebekah in check from her hex) and Elijah wouldn’t have to doubt klaus, hayley, and freya as they’re all family. But the scene between Rebekah and Elijah was heartbreaking, you could tell just how much Elijah cares for his sister
