What an amazing movie!

What did you think??

OMG. One of my favorite movies ever. The realization when I first watched it and that the main character discovers how much time passed, and how he missed his kids growing up....Heartbreaking. Everything is very well thought, and I think this is one of those movies when the first watch has a "magical" feeling because of some revelations... So glad you've watched it :D

Oh, some more info Evie. There is a one-hour documentary called "The Science of Interstellar" which delves even deeper into this movie. It is included in DVD and Blu-Ray purchases of this movie. Those that have seen it via streaming services can watch the documentary on YouTube. Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv9WzXekSiw Another one, mostly narrated by Kip Thorne, the astrophysicist and technical consultant on the film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM-N0tbwBB4

I agree. "Contact" (1997) is an excellent choice. The original story written by Carl Sagan, Mr. Cosmos himself.

The director, Christopher Nolan, of the Batman Trilogy fame (starring Christian Bale), nailed the science and math of space travel. In fact, he consulted one of the foremost astrophysicists of the time, Kip Thorne, to get it just right. Kip actually had to suggest a few changes because the original story had some of the science wrong. The representation of space-time, time dilation, and the black hole are spot on and fit all mathematical models. As well as the gravity equations. Those are actual equations physicists, mathematicians, and other scientists have used. The tesseract at the end was based on what astrophysicists feel it would appear, a multi-dimensional object in 3-D space. The only thing that Kip couldn't change Mr. Nolan's mind on was the ice world. The flyby with the upside-down ice crystals and mountains, Kip said was not very realistic as the gravity on the planet would not allow for such a formation. However, many scientists feel the movie is at least 90% accurate with the science and math.

IMHO, One of the best space sci-fi movies ever and was pleased to see any reaction, but by Evie, this gets very extra special at many more levels. The entire special daughter to father relationship has more depth and the loss of each crew member along the journey is more emotional. Thank you for an awesomely great reaction to a true sci-fi epic. I would be remiss if I didn’t now ask for a react to ‘Contact,’ which I actually rank even a bit higher.

When this movie released, they showed it in a huge IMAX theatre at the National Air and Space Museum. I watched it there for the first time. I don't think anything will ever top that movie-going experience for me. An absolute masterpiece.

There's no way one of you guys voted this movie as nothing extraordinary hahahahaha (just kidding, obviously everyone is entilted to their own opinions).
