People didn't guess the ending when this movie first came out, because we didn't have anything like this. This movie, as well as The Others pretty much started the Psychological Thriller genre.

He was also in Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks when he was about 4 years old. I agree with you that the acting is amazing. In a few Supernatural episodes, Dean will say something to Sam like “Okay, Haley Joel” so the next time it happens, you will understand the reference.
