2022-01-13 13:50:57 +0000 UTCYes, Klaus needed Elena's blood because her doppelganger's blood was used in the spell to bind his werewolf side. If his werewolf side was never bound then he could have just used his blood for both parts. Hence why it worked with his child's blood.

I'll explain more when you see the flashbacks but his life before he turned into a vampire plays a big part in who he is and how he acts. Loneliness, paranoia, fear, and he also has the anger and violence traits from being a wolf. All of these were amplified when he turned and came along with bloodlust.

2021-12-19 02:17:29 +0000 UTCYeah, i'd say the love and hate is split between everyone on TVD for Klaus. But on The Originals, most favor Klaus. That's what i've noticed. I don't understand how Elijah can believe Klaus would know about making hybrids with his unborn child when he only found out now about the prophecy that his child is supposed to be witches' downfall... now it's vampires' downfall?? That's why we see Elijah regret very soon after that he accused him. Klaus is a fascinating character, but he can be extremely frustrating. I see him as a more extreme version of Damon. They act out when everyone gangs up on them. I also enjoy villains and complex/layered characters. In fact, I always question why some watch shows about vampire (a predatory species by magical nature) and expect these characters to be these perfect saints. If I want to watch something with perfect saint characters, I'd go more for films that are HUMANS only. Just because we enjoy characters like Klaus, doesn't mean we agree with what they do. They do not go into full detail as far as the whole hybrid-making with the child's blood after this episode. So, it's more of the fact that the child already has the vampire and wolf gene. Klaus was born a wolf and later became a vampire; which is why the doppelganger was necessary for him to do it.
