2023-08-26 07:31:41 +0000 UTCBasically the ending was controversial, because people were upset myself included that the diamonds reformed so fast especially white diamond. That the diamonds conquered no telling how many worlds, probably committed genocide on many planets through war and even enslaved their own kind in a despot rule. But ultimately seem to be forgiven in the end and receive no comeuppance for it. I do agree that it does fit the themes of the show (even if I think its a bit much even for the show imo) and I loved y'all reaction and loved that you all enjoyed it. I think a part of me has gained a bit more respect and enjoyment for this ending through you guys reaction even if I’m still lean toward negative on it. In ofc Rebecca sugar was rushed so its good to keep that in mind.

2023-08-26 01:39:33 +0000 UTCAs far as White Diamond getting a comeuppance, y'all are right that it fits with the show for Steven to show her a better way by talking and understanding, and I don't think fans were looking for the Crystal Gems to get revenge necessarily. I think what people were upset about was how abrupt it felt compared to Peridot's "redemption" for example, where Peridot was just a minor cog in the system who got shown over time how she could have a better life as an individual, vs. the literal genocidal space dictators in charge of that system who are almost completely forgiven in about a day. Even after Change Your Mind the diamonds never really seem to feel all that sorry or take much responsibility for their actions (other than healing the corruption they directly caused) or lose much of their privileges Personally I would've liked to see something more like what Amphibia did for a certain villain character at the end; forgiven but not absolved, bearing the weight of the harm they did, and implied to be working the remainder of their life to atone.

2023-08-26 01:15:43 +0000 UTCYeah most people forget about number 3 because it wasn't very good and I only remember like 1 good scene from the movie but many have kinda agreed to pretend 3 doesn't exist so many people won't realize there is a 3 I would say if you wanna skip or watch it it's up to you but will say 1, 2, and 4 go great together and in my opinion 3 isn't good nor bad just a little boring.
